A Quick Look At The New Windows 10

Windows 10 was officially revealed at a Microsoft press conference on May 3, during which senior vice president and head of Microsoft Windows division, Mark Shuttleworth, gave brief, but informative, answers to several inquiries from the audience. Many of these inquiries pertain to the Windows 10 release date. Many people are curious about when they will finally be able to get their hands on this brand new operating system. Well, if you are one of them, read on and we'll provide you with the latest on Windows 10's release date.

Windows 10 is actually a series of several operating systems designed and released by Microsoft. Windows NT is the basic operating system, and Windows 7 is the service pack that came with Windows Vista. Windows 10, as a follow-up to Windows 7, is designed to be more functional and feature-rich than its predecessors. Thus, it was introduced as a second-generation system. The major change in Windows 10 is the in-built Windows software, or "core" software, which has been streamlined to run on a single computer system.

Windows operating system has seen many improvements over the past decade. Even though Microsoft made some very good improvements to the operating system, it still has room for more improvement. For example, the Windows registry is much larger than what it was when Windows XP was introduced. Moreover, it is also not clear yet whether Windows 10 will have a free upgrade option. There are rumors saying that Windows XP will not receive an upgrade at all, while Windows 7 will indeed receive one.

Windows XP was replaced by Windows Vista because it was unable to gain popularity as fast as Windows 7. Although Windows Vista is still in use in some parts of the world (notably in the US), Windows XP remains the more popular of the two operating systems today. This is probably due to the fact that Windows Vista has several advantages over Windows XP. For example, the new Windows registry is much bigger than the one that was used in Windows 7.

Windows 10 also has a brand new operating system logo. This is the first time that the logo has changed in such a short period of time. It is also interesting to note that Microsoft chose a new design for Windows 10 that incorporates a water droplet. This is a nice touch, and perhaps reflects the company's new efforts to be more eco-friendly. However, the change in logo is probably not enough to make Windows 10 as eco-friendly as Apple's OS X or Google's Gmail...

Windows 10 also has a new interface, as compared to Windows 7. A new "Start" button replaces the "Programs" button found in previous versions of Windows. At the start menu, you will see four icons: Programs, Taskbar, Search and Options. The search box is searchable with a wide range of keywords. An easily accessible list of recent files can also be seen when you click the "Amiel" icon.

One important feature missing from the new operating system is a file manager. Previous versions required the user to select several folders and open several files for editing. Microsoft claims that this functionality is still being worked on. The main file manager, which is accessed by clicking "My Computer", does have an icon. You can double-click this icon to bring up the file manager. It is not clear whether this functionality will be available in future updates.

The new operating system has many new features and new functions that are bound to cause some confusion. The biggest issue however is likely to be the increased number of bugs that might be discovered and the resulting problems that might arise from these bugs. The Windows team is releasing a regular update that fixes bugs and allows users to improve their performance. They have stated that Windows 10 Home will be released "after the summer" which suggests an early launch. This will most probably be followed by Windows 10 Pro and Windows Server.
